You can lead a horse to water 53,000 times…

Welcome back friend!

The saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” That is completely true. Trust me, I’ve tried it. What happens, though, when you let Jesus lead you to water?

Have you ever wondered to yourself, “is there more to this life than my monotonous daily routine?” or “feeling complacent where I am in life right now.” Have you ever wondered,”what is my calling?” I have. I’ll be brutally honest with you, it’s easy to get comfortable in your day to day and right it off as being too busy. It’s easy to misplace your passion and drive.

You see friend, I too have recently been searching for “something more” in my life. I feel like something is missing. Do you ever feel like that? Maybe it’s a deeper connection with God, or a bigger community to grow with or to discover my calling, I’m not entirely sure. I am actively praying and trusting God to lead me to water (so to speak) to fill that gap.

You may have noticed I recently wrote a blog about something that was hurting so many people that I care deeply about. My heart was hurting along with each of them, but I heard Jesus whisper to me, “speak life into this situation.” That is exactly what I did-or tried to do anyway. I’m not perfect.

When I wrote the blog, I had no idea how many people it would reach. I thought maybe 50 or so of my Facebook friends would read it and maybe get some good out of it. I thought maybe my best friends would share it because that’s what they do. (Shout out to Amanda and Karessa, y’all are the real MVPs). I was satisfied with that because it let me get the thoughts out of my brain and maybe just maybe I would help somebody see Jesus or even the smallest sliver of hope if nothing else along the way. What I NEVER (like never ever) expected was the response I actually got. Y’all actually enjoyed what I wrote. I know, I’m as shocked as you are! My blog has reached 53,000 people and counting. That’s 53,000 times I got to share God’s goodness with people literally across the world.

I know what you are thinking, quit bragging and get to the point. Here is my point. I never, never, never expected that kind of reaction, but I am so thankful for it. If I wouldn’t have written my blog, I would have wasted 53,000 opportunities to share grace, hope and most importantly, love with somebody that may have REALLY needed it. Sure, most of the people that read it might have already known Jesus, but what if they didn’t? What if only one person didn’t? The thought of missing even one opportunity made me sick to my stomach.

So sweet friend, what are you doing with your 53,000 opportunities to touch lives? What are you doing with even one opportunity? Maybe, just maybe, the reason you are feeling complacent or like you are missing something in your life is because you are being led to water but you aren’t drinking anything. I want to issue you a challenge. I want you to boldly drink and see what kind of fulfillment it gives you. I can’t wait to hear about it!

Much love,

Megs

“You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15 NLT)
